On January 27th, the Moon is New for the first time in 2017.  The Sun and Moon are conjunct at 8 degrees Aquarius, which is represented by Pink Diamonds (keyword Impact).  The Sabian Symbol for that degree is "Beautifully Gowned Waxed Figures."  A new moon in the air sign of Aquarius suggests setting intentions, unusual, radical new activities, brainstorming new ideas.

What is happening at the lunations?

Every new moon (and full moon) is different because it falls in a different sign.  When the moon is new it is in the same sign as the Sun because, by definition, they are conjunct and the moon is between the earth and the sun.  When the moon is full it is in the opposite sign from the Sun because, by definition, they are the farthest from each other, with the earth between them.

Pluto in Capricorn

On January 27, 2008, Pluto entered into Capricorn for the start of his long stay in that sign (until January 2024). In 2017, Pluto starts out at 16 Capricorn and ends the year at 18 Capricorn.  Pluto goes retrograde on April 20th at 19 Capricorn and direct on Sept 28 at 16 Capricorn.  When Pluto makes his way into Capricorn, we will deal with aging, material resources, money, power, our desire for status and our response to security issues.

The planet Neptune will be in the sign of Pisces from February 3, 2012 to 2025. In 2017, Neptune moves between 9 and 11 Pisces. Neptune retrogrades on June 10th at 14 Pisces and goes direct Nov. 22nd at 11 Pisces.  Neptune rules Pisces, no separation or boundaries exist between who we are as separate beings and our oneness with all life.

Neptune Transits

Saturn in Sagittarius began Dec 23, 2014 and continues until Dec 19, 2017.  Saturn begins 2017 at 21 Sagittarius and will end the year at 1 Capricorn.  Saturn will retrograde again April 5, 2017 at 27 Sagittarius and return to direct August 25th, at 21 Sagittarius.  Saturn in Sagittarius is looking for practical applications of our personal philosophies.  We may be firming up our belief systems, but should avoid rigid thinking.

Saturn is retrograde for approximately 140 days and is stationary about 5 days before and 5 days after retrogradation.  You will be re-learning life lessons, becoming solely responsible in an area of your life (determined by the house).

"Saturn transiting the first house begins with a Saturn conjunction to the Ascendant, a transit of personal significance. The first house is a fire house, a house that rules our personal identity. We concern ourselves with how we come across to others on a personal level with Saturn here. Our physical body becomes a focus as well. Depending on the age of the native, it may be a time when we feel our age, or it is a time when we see our bodies quite clearly. This is an excellent time for beginning health regimens, diets, and the like, simply because it is a time when we look in the mirror and see ourselves clearly——not what we want to see.
