March Eclipses

In March, we have two eclipses. Be sure to look for personal planets around 18 degrees Pisces (and Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius) and 3 degrees Libra (and Aries, Cancer or Capricorn). Also look up the houses where these two eclipses fall within your chart.

Pisces and Libras, is your birthday within five days of March 8th or March 23rd?

"In 2016... we have three eclipses in the Pisces-Virgo family of signs, including solar eclipses on March 8 in Pisces at 19 degrees, solar new moon eclipse on September 1 at Virgo 9 degrees. and a lunar eclipse September 16 in Pisces. Earlier in the year we have lunar full moon eclipse in Libra, on March 23, 2016 at 3 degrees and that one will finally concludes two years of Libra-Aries family of eclipses.

By March 23, 2016, the total number of eclipses that occurred in the Libra-Aries family will be six. The Pisces-Virgo family will finish in February 26, 2017 with a total number of six eclipses as well, and in either case, that is enough to cause a transformation if you have planets that correspond to the mathematical degree of the eclipse in you natal chart. You will see an eclipse works retrograde, starting with a high mathematical degree and working backwards to early degrees. Most people do not feel every eclipse in a family, only the ones touching planets, the sun, moon or ascendant in the natal chart. Eclipses are powerful so you would not need to feel all of them. The randomness of the degrees insures a wide number of people will feel them in their natal chart. "

"An eclipse is a far more potent lunation. Look to the house the eclipse falls in your natal chart. The affairs of that house will be activated. Does the eclipse fall on a planet in your natal chart? Setting Your New Moon intention when there is an Eclipse

Normally we want to set our intentions for the next month on the New Moon or just after it becomes exact, watching to not do it when the moon is void of course. When there is an eclipse we want to wait about 48 hours because the energy is intensified. You may want to wait until we feel more grounded.

What Sign is the Moon in?

First we can consider the sign that the Moon is in, in general. The moon changes sign about every 2.5 days, taking a lunar month to traverse the sky and our charts.

What is happening at the lunations?

Every new moon (and full moon) is different because it falls in a different sign. When the moon is new it is in the same sign as the Sun because, by definition, they are conjunct and the moon is between the earth and the sun. When the moon is full it is in the opposite sign from the Sun because, by definition, they are the farthest from each other, with the earth between them.

What is happening at a lunar eclipse?

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth's shadow blocks all the Sun's light from directly reaching the Moon's surface. Eclipses of theMoon happen when the Sun, Earth and Moon are aligned to form an almost or exact straight line.

What houses are the new and full moon eclipses falling in your chart?

So an important thing to consider is the house in your natal chart where the lunation is falling, as well as any planets that might be nearby.
