Pluto in Capricorn

Pluto in Capricorn

On January 27, 2008, Pluto entered into Capricorn for the start of his long stay in that sign (until January 2024). In 2017, Pluto starts out at 16 Capricorn and ends the year at 18 Capricorn.  Pluto goes retrograde on April 20th at 19 Capricorn and direct on Sept 28 at 16 Capricorn.  When Pluto makes his way into Capricorn, we will deal with aging, material resources, money, power, our desire for status and our response to security issues.

Pluto Transits

"Pluto takes approximately 248 years to come full circle. This slow-moving planet’s transits are long-lasting, and each transit takes its time to unfold. As Pluto transits a point in our chart, retrogrades back over it, and then hits it again in direct motion, it imparts its own special wisdom upon the point in question—the areas of lives and parts of our psyches ruled by that point. How Pluto affects our lives depends very much on whether we resist its influences or we try to work with the planet of rebirth and destiny. Whatever part of our lives and of our psyches that Pluto touches, especially by hard transit, is an area that Pluto compels us to explore more deeply. Superficiality is not acceptable for Pluto. Pluto transits insist that we get in touch with our core purpose and our deep sense of power. New levels of intimacy, not only with others but also with ourselves, are discovered and uncovered." source

Pluto in Capricorn

Pluto was last in Capricorn 1762-1778, which includes the time of the American Revolution.
Pluto (to transform) in Capricorn (Prudent and Reserved) (Natal Interpretation): You transform in a prudent and reserved manner in areas related to power, business and careers. This generation may be against authority and wish to become independent of some authority (powerful country, convention, etc). You delve beneath the surface in matters related power over others and in a practical, common sense way seek to remove it (earth). You may move out into the world to make changes (cardinal) and you are motivated from the outside (passive), which might be social conventions. The transformation is resisted because of a tendency to cling onto the old and a tendency to carefully and prudently make changes, which tends to make them even more powerful when they break through. Pluto Retrograde

Pluto is retrograde for 160 days and is stationary about 16 days before and 16 days after retrogradation.  During this time, you will need to rectify any issues from your past.

Pluto Retrograde

Pluto Capricorn transiting the Second House: (House of Taurus and Venus) A test of your values and how much you invest in your own natural talents, possessions and sense of place. Big transformations to do with earning power. A revamping of what 'security' means, and trust in your own resilience, self-sufficiency.
